Chicks for Children Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Foundation founded by Dr. Mark Cooper, retired professor at the University of Central Arkansas. The overarching mission of the foundation is to reduce or eliminate poverty, identify project partners to support the foundation mission, and to empower children and youth to make a difference in the lives of others, especially kids of poverty. The foundation has helped raise funds for building an orphanage, greenhouses, a tractor and implements, lease farm land, build classrooms, construct chicken coops, and so forth.
Presently, Plus Designer is working in partnership with the Chicks for Children Foundation on the Hellen’s Heroes Mentors Matter: Each One Reach One education campaign. The campaign will encourage women in Arkansas partnered with Arkansas High School students to mentor high school students attending the Seeds High School in Kitale, Kenya.
Plus Designer has provided a multitude of resource support for the Chicks for Children Foundation, including two videos, two poster designs, two newsletters, two templates for brochures, and two PowerPoint presentations that helped the foundation receive the True Inspiration Award from Chick-fil-A.

- Somali Children's Book Project

This project was created to enable better resources and materials for early education in Somali communities.
Somali has long relied on oral tradition to preserve a record of The past in the absence of written history. We are striving to put Somali folktales, culture, and history in writing and pass it on to the younger generation. Children from Somali who live in the United States will be able to read stories and see images that are from their own culture. This will also ensure they keep some of their culture with the oral tradition.
Because language development is central to cognitive development, children need to have access to learning concepts in a familiar language. With these books we hope to bridge a gap by giving them books written at emergent reading levels. Hopefully in the future, Somali children’s bilingual books can be distributed through the Somali community and schools all around the world.
This project is a foldable small pocketbook for international students.
Two students noticed the need of an easy access pocketbook for the international students in Conway, AR. The book shows international restaurants, parks, tourist sites, Facebook groups and an easy to read map. It is small enough to fit into any pocket and can be distributed.
